Following an acclaimed run at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, the new musical American Prophet: Frederick Douglass In His Own Words premieres on Broadway in the 2024-25 season. PAC NYC invites you to join performers and the creators of this powerful new musical in a conversation with the direct descendants of abolitionist Frederick Douglass (great-great-great grandson Kenneth B. Morris, Jr. and his mother, Nettie Washington Douglass). Don’t miss this extraordinary glimpse into the inspiration behind the musical and the lasting impact of Frederick Douglass, born enslaved but empowered by his legendary writing and oratorical skills to become one the most famous and influential men in American history.

Director and writer Charles Randolph-Wright (Trouble In Mind, Motown: The Musical) and Grammy Award-winning composer, lyricist, writer Marcus Hummon will guide this evening of conversation and musical performances from American Prophet.
