Simple Mischief Studio: Spencer Lott’s Mermaids in the Sky

Puppeteer and Director Spencer Lott transforms the sky into the sea as a cast of colorful sculptures float over the audience’s heads in a graceful dance. Translucent mermaids, inspired by sea glass, swim past the clouds in this playful and poetic experience with a live score.

About the Artist

Commissioned by Little Island (NYC), this piece has also been featured at HERE Arts. The ensemble includes: Leigh Poulos, Adeola Role, Olivia Bernabe, Jon Hoche, Emily Hope Price, and Jake Charkey. The puppets were designed and fabricated by Simple Mischief Studio (a creative studio co-founded by puppeteer Spencer Lott).
