Circle Songs: Toshi Reagon
Circle Songs: A Holiday Concert Series is a four-evening celebration that will brighten the shortest days of the year with a rare opportunity to experience world-class artists in a uniquely intimate in-the-round setting.
In The Alchemy of Change: A Parable Becoming, Toshi Reagon brings to PAC NYC a circle of sonic experiences that reflect our journey forward with the past always in our hands.
Toshi has been described as “one helluva rock’n’roller-coaster ride” by Vibe magazine and as “a one-woman celebration of all that’s dynamic, progressive and uplifting in American music” by Pop Matters. An award-winning singer, musician, composer, producer and curator – Toshi’s music has been featured in film and television and she has collaborated with many musicians, choreographers, and theatermakers, including Carl Hancok Rux, Meshell Dorrance and Dorrance Dance, Robert Wilson and Meshell Ndegeocello. Toshi is a performer and music director of the opera Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower, which she co-created with her mother, Bernice Johnson Reagon.
