Educator Discounts
Full-time teachers are invited to purchase $30 discounted tickets, subject to availability. Elias Weiss Friedman
Photographer, creative director, videographer, producer, and New York Times best-selling author, Elias Weiss Friedman, is the creator of the wildly successful online platform The Dogist, which boasts more than 6.5 million followers across social platforms. Over the last decade and over 50,000 dogs later, Elias has redefined dog portraiture through his singular style of humanizing his subjects and illuminating their true essence. He has photographed President Biden and his dog Commander at the White House and is an official photographer for both Westminster and The Super Bowl’s beloved Puppy Bowl. Elias’s photo documentary style and “seriously funny” sense of humor have made The Dogist a phenomenon, cultivated a devoted following, and set his work apart from being just a social media influencer.
He is not only a photographer of dogs but also an advocate for them, as seen through his work with incredible philanthropic organizations such as Puppies Behind Bars, The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, the ASPCA, The Guide Dog Foundation, Canine Companions for Independence, and many more.
Meiyin Wang
Meiyin Wang is a producer and curator of live performance. She is the Director of Producing and Programming of the Perelman Performing Arts Center, located on the World Trade Center campus in New York. From 2006-2015, she became the Co-Director of Under the Radar Festival at The Public Theater in New York, which has presented over 200 companies and is a catalyst in discovering new performance in New York, U.S., and around the world. She led the creation of the Devised Theater Initiative at The Public and was also the curator of the Park Avenue Armory’s Artists-in-Residence series. Meiyin was based in the West Coast from 2016-2020 where she served as the Director of the 3rd edition of La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls, and Andrew W. Mellon Creative Fellow at the Meany Center at University of Washington, Seattle. As an independent producer, her work has been seen on four continents, and featured at venues including Holland Festival, The Arts Center NYU Abu Dhabi, and Singapore International Festival of the Arts. Among her projects were Toshi Reagon (Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower) and Tina Satter/ Half Straddle (Is This A Room). She proudly serves on the board of Trust for Mutual Understanding. Born and raised in Singapore to Taiwanese and Chinese parents, Meiyin is bilingual and spent her life negotiating between cultures and languages.
