Jake Owen and Mark McIntyre have been cultivating their friendship and musical unity in New York City since meeting in the downtown art-rock scene in 2015. Since then, they have been developing their rare guitar symbiosis and taste for adventurous songwriting in off-hours recording sessions and through Mark’s long-term residency at the 55 Bar in Greenwich Village. Together, they craft a new sound that lives somewhere between hypnotic Radiohead-style grooves, Elliot Smith’s thoughtful intimacy, and the electric spontaneity of Jimi Hendrix.
Guitarist/Producer/Composer Jake Owen developed an early playing and writing style steeped in the earthy blues, folk, and latin music traditions emanating from his native Texan soil. Sideman credits range from the Americana folk-rocking BoDeans and Augustana to the NYC East Village-influenced, cutting-edge sounds of Forró in the Dark and Sabina Sciubba.
Guitarist/Songwriter/Experimental-Indie Artist Mark McIntyre hails from the Hudson Valley, where he started writing music at the age of 10. Mark has enjoyed a multi-faceted career in the creative music scene. He held a residency at Greenwich Village’s legendary 55 Bar in from 2019-2022, where his band developed a formidable catalog of heartfelt, groove-based, and often experimental songs.
