Deejaying is sonic curation. Designing a path along an arc of ideas and feelings through sound is what it’s all about. Music has the unique power to bring people of all backgrounds together; the most inspiring DJs do so in incredible ways, across genres and eras. Lani is the creator of Facility, which is a project with the mission to facilitate the success and wellbeing of the dance music community in New York. In pursuing this mission, Lani and the Facility team aim to create healthier, stronger, and more harmonious connections between people everywhere.

Park Avenue Artists’ Spotlight

Scotch Mist is a New York-based trio known for their unique blend of rock, disco, and psychedelic sounds. Consisting of Ed (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Gianluca (bass, production), and Fern (lead guitar), the band fuses their diverse musical backgrounds to create a nostalgic yet modern sound. In 2023, the band released their 2nd album, titled Cabo Blanco, an eclectic mixture of genres ranging from pop, disco, and rock, to Brazilian Tropicalia. The album was then followed with two separate singles “Goth Girl” released in October 2023 and “qt pi” released in June of 2024.

Gina D’Soto has established herself as an authentic and effortless vocalist in New York. Her sound is a fusion of Pop, R&B and Cuban traditions, providing listeners with a melodic experience reflecting her artistic identity. With her undeniable charm, Gina D’Soto infuses her music with an empowering presence that captivates her audience. She has emerged as one of the greatest Cuban artists of her generation. Her sound resonates with everyone she encounters, and she continues to create musical waves on platforms like NPR Live Sessions.

Oscillate

Shannon Dawson is a dance floor professional. From the club to the recording booth and beyond, the kinetic native New York DJ exhibits a deep understanding of what moves people at any place or time. Shannon’s sound: Big and bold. She’s noted for her layering and phrasing, dizzying handwork, and big-time blends of hard-hitting club, classic and ghetto house, techno, global bass, breakbeat, hip-hop, and anything fiery and fun. And she’s the sunny host of her own podcast Club Management, which explores music’s ability to bridge communities around the world through thoughtful interviews.

Immersed in the sounds of disco, house, techno, and electro melodies, Laila Amira draws inspiration from New York City’s nightlife. The connections and feeling of elation she has experienced on the dance floor constantly inspire her to get listeners out of their heads and into their bodies. She has become a staple in NYC nightlife, playing at esteemed venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn such as Elsewhere, Good Room, Le Bain, and Jean’s. Laila is also the host of Club Made on Newtown Radio, where she discusses important parties, people, and records that influence today’s dance music landscape.

Roman Chappelle – 9:30pm

Roman Chappelle is recording artist, producer, and DJ living in NYC. Playing at some of the city’s foremost clubs, his DJing blends the legacy of NY’s disco and house with new soundscapes. His parties bring together people from all walks of life to meet, connect, and dance.

sola system – 9:30pm

sola system is a Nigerian Brooklyn based DJ with a penchant for black diasporic sound. Genre isn’t a boundary when it comes to how sola system weaves sounds together – from disco and house to global club and afrobeats, sola system’s goal is to make you move. sola system is a co-founder of Slick Down, a collective focused on electronic music’s roots in black culture, and ABEG NYC, a collective by and for queer Africans. They are a resident on 8 Ball Radio, where they host constellations with sola system every first Friday of the month.

Raised in Chicago, based in Brooklyn, Saeed Durojaiye (@yungduro) is a self-described ‘music nerd’. When he’s not behind the decks DJing, he’s running around as a photographer, and when he’s not doing either one of those things, he’s moonlighting as a law student.
