Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez is a singer and composer based in Brooklyn, New York. With both Hispanic and Jewish heritage, Raina comes from rich traditions of storytelling. Though her powerhouse vocals are the first thing to catch the ear, it is Raina’s lyricism and stories that make her an important voice of our time.
Rooted in jazz, soul, and songwriting traditions, Raina’s songs combine familiar sonic palates with lyrical precision. In the age of streaming and online stardom, Raina breaks through the noise with her live performances. Her authenticity shines through on every stage. Most recently selling out Joe’s Pub in NYC, Raina has packed rooms at venues such as Nublu, Public Records, Brooklyn Bowl, Homer Center for the Arts, and many others. Touring both nationally and overseas, solo or with 6-piece bands, Raina is a seasoned performer.
As a recording artist, Raina started releasing work in 2018 with a debut album If They’re Mine in 2021. Her sophomore album will be released this fall.
