Their award-winning music centers positivity, social justice, and silliness and has been featured widely in national media, serving as a soundtrack for social justice education and progressive parenting. Full of humor and harmony, Ants shows are energetic, interactive, and engaging for both children and adults. Join us for this special concert, which is part of Ants on a Log’s Pride Month Tour! Kely Pinheiro, a cellist from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, defies classical norms with her diverse musical journey. Raised in a music-loving family, she challenged stereotypes early on. Awarded a full-tuition scholarship at Berklee College of Music in 2018, Kely discovered her talent for singing, songwriting, and producing – blending Portuguese and English lyrics to connect with a global audience emotionally. Her music promises a journey that’s both enlightening and enjoyable, inviting listeners to experience her heartfelt cello arrangements.

Originally hailing from Virginia, Telesforo moved to New York in 2021 to pursue his dreams of becoming a DJ. His diverse sound borrows influence from a number of different regional scenes that he grew up within, most notably DC, San Diego, and the Bay Area. Telesforo currently lives in Bushwick, where he hosts an Open Decks night at Eris, and curates the Happy Hour at Bossa Nova Civic Club.

Old Songs, New Songs Series
Daniel and Patrick Lazour are brothers and music theatre writers. Their original musical We Live in Cairo premiered at the American Repertory Theater in 2019, directed by Taibi Magar. Projects in development include a musical adaptation of Ritesh Batra’s film The Lunchbox (Lincoln Center Theatre 2025) and their medical theater sing-along experiment, Night Side Songs (Under the Radar, A.R.T./PTC co-production 2025). They are Jonathan Larson Grant and Richard Rodgers Award recipients, MacDowell and Yaddo Fellows, and New York Theater Workshop Usual Suspects.

Hila the Earth is an Eco-Rapper, Comedian and Content Creator. She performs as Planet Earth and writes songs and makes videos about ecological topics such as; trees, vegetables, compost, soil health, water, mushrooms, reducing plastic waste, and the list keeps growing. Her hope is that by making Earth science accessible, musical, and super fun, more people will take action to protect their environments and help life thrive on Earth.

Stéphane San Juan, a French drummer, singer, and composer based in New York, introduces his latest acoustic trio project, drawing inspiration from African, Brazilian, and French music genres, fused with elements of jazz. While singing, Stephane plays acoustic drums and percussion, Guilherme Monteiro accompanies on acoustic guitar, blending Brazilian essence and Laurent David adds an unconventional jazz element with his unique bass playing style. Sung in French and Portuguese, his original repertoire promises a transcendent sonic journey uniting hearts and souls.

With Grammy, USA Songwriting, and International Songwriting accolades, she’s rocked major stages like Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. Joanie’s 9th album, All the Ladies, earned a 2021 Grammy and her 11th children’s album, FREADOM: Songs Inspired by Banned Children’s Picture Books, promotes the freedom to read for all. FREADOM lifts up some of Joanie’s favorite banned children’s books through reimagined stories that she performs with her Banned Book Band.

Sing Harlem, under the direction of Ahmaya Knoelle Higginson, has grown to be a highly respected and influential force in the New York gospel scene. The choir serves as both a social impact initiative for young people that have graduated from Mama Foundation’s music training program, and as a commercial choir delivering acclaimed entertainment nationwide. Breathe In: A Gospel Celebration is presented as part of The Ritual of Breath Is the Rite to Resist, a chamber opera-theater work that responds to the murder of Eric Garner and the ongoing loss of Black life at the hands of authorities.

Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Matt Munisteri is a Brooklyn native who, as a child, was almost assuredly the only bluegrass banjo player on his block. As one of “New York’s finest vintage guitar stylists” (Downbeat Magazine), and a player with a reputation as a genuine virtuoso of American guitar styles, Matt routinely works with a wide range of artists, from folk to mainstream jazz and even the avant-garde. His own compositions reflect a life-long immersion in the history of American Popular song.

GDT’s social purpose is to amplify and represent the diverse cultures of Queens through dance. Themes covered are through Marc’s perspectives as a Filipinx-American, gay immigrant, as well as his dancers’ perspectives, including barriers for immigrants, complexities of growing up as a child of immigrants in a eurocentric heteronormative society, and the celebration of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. In his musical productions, Fortunato has executed a multi-genre approach, beginning with Bachata, Bolero, and Merengue, and even experimenting with fusions of Afro-Dominican rhythms and his NYC influences such as rock, R&B, jazz and hip-hop.
